Westwood, Mass –– November 5, 2001 –– Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), has introduced its new 15-inch flat panel LCD monitor. The new monitor – Hitachi’s CML153 flat panel display – weighs only 8 lbs and has a 23.7 mm left and right bezel width, making it one of the lightest and thinnest LCD monitors available. The CML153 features TFT (Thin Film Transistor) Technology, delivering high quality, distortion free images, at a value price. MSRP is $399.

The CML153 provides a full 15” viewing area (304 x 228 mm), with minimal glare and almost no emissions. It features bezel integrated speakers as well as a headphone jack and volume control on the bezel. The panel meets the VESA FPMPMI (Flat Panel Monitor Physical Mounting Interface) standard, which enables wall-mounting with third party mounting arms. It also features Kensington Security Port.
The PC & Mac compatible CML153 also features an auto-adjust function to quickly and accurately produce beautiful, distortion-free images. 

Pixel pitch is .297 mm, with 200 nit typical brightness and a 300:1 contrast ratio. Prime and maximum resolution is 1024 x 768 at 60 or 75 Hz. Available in ivory as the CML153 or in black as the CML153B, both panels have the same performance specifications and users can choose the color that meets their home or office decor needs. The CML153 is TCO ’99 approved and the CML153B is TCO ’95 approved. 
Both flat panel displays will begin shipping to Hitachi distributors on November 12, 2001. Hitachi’s LCDs come with a 3 year warranty.
